NUST Fall 2026: The Clock Starts Monday

The NUST Entry Test (GNET) Rule:
You might think you need to take NUST's own test (NET). But for Master's students, there is a shortcut. NUST accepts:

GAT (General) conducted by NTS (scores from June 2024 – June 2026 are valid) .
HAT conducted by HEC .

Why this matters for you:
If you already have a GAT or HAT score from the last 2 years, you do not need to take another test. Just apply online from April 13. You save Rs. 1,500 and weeks of stress.

PIEAS: The Test is Over, But You Get Another Chance

The first PIEAS entry test for BS programs was held on April 12, 2026 (yesterday) .

Good news: Registration for the Second Test opens on April 15, 2026 .

How to Prepare for PIEAS Round 2 (Starts April 15)

You have exactly one month until the May 11 deadline . Here is the 30-day plan.

Week 1 (April 15-22): Registration + Syllabus hunt. Download the PIEAS syllabus PDF. It is usually 60% F.Sc. Physics/Math and 40% Intelligence.

Week 2 (April 23-30): Solve past papers from 2023 and 2024. The question style repeats.

Week 3 (May 1-7): Mock tests under strict timing. PIEAS is famous for lengthy papers. Speed matters.

Week 4 (May 8-11): Light revision. Stop heavy studying 3 days before the test.

FAQ – NUST & PIEAS Admissions

Q1: I have a GAT score of 55. Is it accepted by NUST?
A: No. NUST requires a minimum of 60% for GAT (General) or HAT . A 55% is too low. You must retake the test.

Q2: The NUST portal isn't open yet. Can I send documents by courier?
A: No. NUST does not accept physical applications. Wait for April 13 and apply strictly online .

Q3: I missed the PIEAS April 12 test. Is my application fee wasted?
A: No. If you paid for the first test but missed it, check if your login works for the second test registration on April 15. Some universities adjust the fee.

Q4: Is the PIEAS second test easier?
A: No. It is the same difficulty level. But you have an advantage: you know the format now.

Q5: Does NUST require NTS or HEC test scores for undergraduate?

Q6: Can I apply to NUST without any entry test score?
A: No. You must have a valid GAT/HAT/GRE score by the last date (May 15). Result-awaiting students can apply, but the score must arrive before classes start .
