Admissions Open in Pakistan April/May 2026: Updated University List with Deadlines

April and May are the peak admission months for Pakistani university students. Whether you're a fresh FSc graduate, a gap-year student, or someone switching fields, the right window is open right now. But this window won't stay open.

We've gone through the official portals of major Pakistani universities as of April 10, 2026, and listed everything you need in one place.

Why You Can't Rely on Older Admission Lists

The last comprehensive admissions update on many education sites covered February 2026. That's 6-7 weeks out of date. Deadlines have moved. Some universities opened new phases. Some have already closed. If you're using an old list, you may either panic about deadlines that have passed or miss ones that are still open.

This post covers only what's currently open or opening within the next 6 weeks.

FCCU (Forman Christian College University)

• Admissions Open Since: April 1, 2026

• Entry Test (FEAT/Accuplacer): May 2, 2026
• Programmes: BS Computer Science, BS Business Studies, BS Psychology, BS Biotechnology, BA/BSc General, and more

Students with FSc Part-1 results (still awaiting Part-2) can apply on a provisional basis, provided they have at least 50% in their field. A-Level students need IBCC equivalence before applying.

FCCU's FEAT test is computer-based and covers English and Mathematics. For CS, there are two additional Mathematics sub-tests. The application fee is PKR 4,000, payable via HBL, UBL, Meezan, or Allied Bank.

LUMS Graduate Programmes

• Online Application Deadline: April 14, 2026 (now passed)
• LGAT Test: April 26, 2026

University-by-University Breakdown

NUST Admissions 2026

NUST runs a year-round NET process across four series. For Fall 2026 admission, Series 4 is the last option. The merit formula gives 50% weight to your NET score, 40% to FSc marks, and 10% to Matric.

COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) 2026

COMSATS has campuses in Islamabad, Lahore, Sahiwal, Wah, Abbottabad, Attock, and Vehari. Admissions for BS and MS programmes typically open in May-June for Fall 2026.

Entry requirements vary by campus and programme. Most BS programmes accept NTS NAT scores. Engineering programmes may require ECAT. Confirm with your specific campus.

CUI uses an online admission form at admission.comsats.edu.pk. Keep your NAT registration number and score card ready.

Air University Islamabad 2026

Air University Phase I deadline for UG programmes was April 15, 2026. Phase I CBT tests were April 18, 2026 (Islamabad only).

UMT (University of Management & Technology) Lahore

UMT's Spring 2026 admissions are ongoing. The university runs two intake sessions per year and is ranked among Pakistan's top private universities. Engineering programme merit includes a minimum 33% in the entry test.

UMT offers need-based and merit-based scholarships alongside admissions. Apply at admissions.umt.edu.pk.

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU)

AIOU operates on a semester system with rolling admissions. Spring 2026 forms are available for AD, BA, BSc, BEd, MBA, and MA programmes. AIOU is the best option for students who can't relocate or attend full-time. No entry test for most programmes.

What Documents Do You Need for Most Universities?

Get your IBCC equivalence done well in advance if you're an A-Level or O-Level student. The processing takes 4-6 weeks and many universities won't accept applications without it.

Which Test Does Each University Accept?

If you haven't taken any test yet, the fastest route is registering for NTS NAT. It covers the most universities and runs every few months.

Merit Lists and Fee Deposits — What Happens After You Apply?

Most universities follow this sequence after the application deadline:

1. Entry test date
2. Merit list published (usually 2-4 weeks after the test)
3. Selection interview (for some programmes)
4. Fee deposit within 5-7 days of selection
5. Classes begin (typically August-September for Fall 2026)

Missing the fee deposit deadline means you lose your seat, even if you're selected. Set a phone reminder the moment you see the merit list.

Scholarships to Apply for Alongside Your Admission

Many universities automatically consider admitted students for merit scholarships. But some need a separate application:

• HEC Need-Based Scholarships 2026 — Apply separately at hec.gov.pk after admission. Covers tuition and living allowance.
• COMSATS Merit Scholarship — Automatic for top 10% of the merit list
• NUST Scholarship — Financial need assessment done during admission process
• FCCU Financial Aid — Deadline May 14, 2026 for Fall intake

Don't wait for your degree to start before applying for funding. The best scholarship applications go in alongside your admissions form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply to multiple universities at the same time? Yes. In fact, you should. Apply to 3-5 universities simultaneously. Confirm fee refund policies before depositing, in case you get selected at more than one.

What if my FSc exams haven't finished yet? Most universities allow provisional applications if you're still in your second year of Intermediate. Your admission is confirmed once your FSc result is verified. Check each university's specific policy.

Do I need a domicile of a specific province for public universities? Yes. Provincial and district quotas exist at most public universities. Your Punjab domicile gets you Punjab university seats, for example. Federal (Islamabad) domicile often works across territories.

Is it too late to apply if I've missed some deadlines? Not necessarily. Universities like UMT, AIOU, and Namal have longer windows. And most public universities open Fall admissions formally in July-August — this is the early admission season.

How do I check if a university is HEC-recognized? Go to hec.gov.pk and use the "HEC Recognized Universities" search. Never pay admission fees or enroll at a university not on this list.

What's the difference between Spring and Fall admissions? Fall (August-September start) is the main admission season for most programmes. Spring (January-February start) is available mostly at private universities and for certain programmes only.
