Procrastination just cost you money. But it is not too late.

Today is April 10, 2026. Two major scholarship windows close in just 4 days. If you want to study at LUMS or Oxford for free, your fingers need to start typing right now.

Deadline 1: LUMS (April 14, 2026)

LUMS has two big funding options closing on April 14, 2026 .

A. The Honhaar Scholarship (PHEC)

• Who: Punjab domicile holders. High-achieving students.

• Covers: Undergraduate studies at LUMS.

• Action: You must have already applied for admission to LUMS. The scholarship is need-cum-merit .

B. Shahid Hussain Foundation Scholarship (International)

• Who: SAARC countries (India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan). Note: Not for Pakistani passport holders .

• Covers: Tuition and living costs.

• Action: If you are an Afghan or Nepali student in Pakistan, apply today.

The Reality Check for LUMS:
You cannot apply for the scholarship if you haven't applied for the program. The MBA, Executive MBA, and MS Economics deadlines are also April 14 . If you miss this date, you miss the Fall 2026 intake completely.

Deadline 2: Oxford (Balochistan Quota) – Urgent

This is for students from Balochistan.
The Benazir Bhutto Graduate Scholarship for the University of Oxford requires an admission offer from Oxford .

The Timeline:

• Application closing date for OPP (Oxford Pakistan Programme): 15th April .

Wait. Can you still apply?

• If you have an Oxford offer: YES. You have 5 days. Upload it to the OPP portal now.

• If you don't have an Oxford offer: You are too late for this cycle. Oxford admissions closed in January 2026 . But bookmark this for next year.

The "I Have No Money" Backup Plan

If you missed these, don't cry. Two more options exist.

1. HEC US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor: Deadline for Fall 2026 is April 30, 2026 . This is for PhDs. You need a GRE score of 300+.

2. Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF): Usually opens in May. Start preparing your income documents now.

Your 4-Day Checklist (April 10-14)

• Log into LUMS portal. Go to the "Financial Aid" tab.

• Upload income proofs. Father's salary slip, pension book, or tax returns.

• Write the "Need" statement. 300 words on why you need the money. Be honest. Don't write poetry.

• Submit by 11:59 PM on April 14. Don't wait for April 15. The server crashes on the last day.

FAQ – Scholarships Deadlines

Q1: I am from Karachi. Can I apply for the Honhaar Scholarship?
A: No. Honhaar is specifically for Punjab domicile holders via PHEC . Karachi students should check HEC Need-Based scholarships.

Q2: I missed the April 14 LUMS deadline. Can I submit a late application?
A: No. LUMS strictly enforces these dates for Fall 2026. You must wait for the Spring 2027 cycle.

Q3: Is the Oxford scholarship only for Balochistan?
A: Yes, the Benazir Bhutto scholarship requires Balochistan domicile . However, Oxford has other scholarships (e.g., Weidenfeld-Hoffmann) open to all Pakistanis.

Q4: Do I need an IELTS for the HEC US scholarship?
A: Yes, most US universities require TOEFL or IELTS. HEC prefers GRE for the Knowledge Corridor .

Q5: Can I apply for LUMS financial aid after getting admission?
