Introduction

MDCAT 2026 registration is now open. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) officially launched the registration portal today, June 22, 2026, at mdcat.pmdc.pk. If you are planning to apply for MBBS or BDS admission this year, your registration window starts now.

The exam is scheduled for August 16, 2026 — that gives you less than eight weeks between registration and exam day. Do not treat this as background news. Act on it today.

This guide covers everything you need: the official schedule, fee structure, eligibility rules, required documents, and a step-by-step registration walkthrough. There are no estimates here — all dates and figures are sourced directly from the PMDC public notice.

Who Can Apply for MDCAT 2026?

PMDC has set clear eligibility rules. Before you register, confirm you meet all of these:

At least 60% marks in HSSC (FSc Pre-Medical) or an equivalent qualification

Biology and Chemistry must be included as subjects — Physics or Mathematics as the third science

Valid CNIC (students 18 and above) or B-Form (students under 18)

Students under 18 must also have a valid Juvenile Registration Certificate (JRC) issued by NADRA — this is a new 2026 requirement

A-Level students must have an IBCC equivalence certificate before applying

Result-awaiting candidates (FSc Part 1 or Part 2 result pending) can also apply

No age limit and no attempt limit for MDCAT 2026

If your FSc result is not yet announced, you can still register. PMDC allows result-awaiting students to sit the test.

MDCAT 2026 Registration Fee

All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Pay on time to avoid the late fee.

Category

Regular Fee

Late Fee

Pakistan Test Centres

Rs. 9,000

Rs. 13,000

International Centre (Saudi Arabia)

Rs. 45,000

Rs. 55,000

Do not pay the regular fee after July 8. Late applications require the higher Rs. 13,000 fee. The portal closes on July 13 — no exceptions have been confirmed after that.

Documents Required for MDCAT 2026 Registration

Prepare all of these before you open the registration portal. Uploading wrong or unclear files is the most common reason for registration delays.

Documents Checklist

CNIC (if you are 18 or above) — scanned, clearly readable

B-Form (if you are under 18) — scanned, clearly readable

JRC — Juvenile Registration Certificate from NADRA (only for students under 18; new 2026 requirement)

Matric / SSC certificate — bearing your photograph

FSc result card or Hope Certificate — FSc Part 2 or Part 1 result

Domicile certificate — must match your province of domicile

Passport-size photograph — recent, formal background

IBCC equivalence certificate — only for A-Level / O-Level students

File size: keep each file under 2 MB in JPEG or PDF format. Take clear scans in good lighting — blurred images will cause your application to be flagged.

How to Register for MDCAT 2026 — Step-by-Step

PMDC has moved entirely to online registration. There is no offline form, no manual challan pick-up from offices, and no walk-in registration.

1.    Open the official PMDC registration portal at mdcat.pmdc.pk

2.    Click 'New Registration' and enter your CNIC or B-Form number, email address, and mobile number

3.    Create a secure password — save it immediately. You will need it to log back in

4.    Verify your email address using the link sent to your inbox

5.    Log in and fill in your personal information: full name (as on CNIC), father's name, date of birth, gender, domicile, and complete address

6.    Enter your academic details: Matric marks, FSc marks (or Hope Certificate), and board name

7.    Upload scanned copies of all required documents listed above

8.    Select your preferred test city — this cannot be changed after submission. Students must appear in their province of domicile

9.    Pay the registration fee through the challan generated in the portal — use your bank's online or branch service

10.  Submit the application and take a screenshot of every confirmation page

11.  Download and save your registration confirmation slip

After the fee is confirmed, your application is locked. Name, CNIC, city, and contact details cannot be changed. Double-check everything before you hit submit.

Test City and Province Rule

PMDC follows a strict province-of-domicile rule for test centres. You must sit the exam in your province. If your domicile is from Punjab, you cannot select Karachi as your test centre.

One exception: Candidates with a Sindh domicile may also select Islamabad as a test centre. This is confirmed in the official PMDC notice. All other provinces must select within their domicile region.

The test city list is based on demand. If applicant numbers in a city are low, PMDC may shift candidates to the nearest available centre. Select the city closest to your home to reduce travel risk.

MDCAT 2026 Exam Pattern

The test format has not changed from 2025.

       Total questions: 180 MCQs

       Format: Paper-based (not computer-based)

       Language: English only

Negative marking: None — attempt every question

Subject breakdown: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning (as per PMDC syllabus uploaded at pmdc.pk)

No negative marking means one thing: never leave a question blank. An educated guess gives you a chance at marks. An empty answer gives you zero.

New in 2026: The JRC Requirement You Cannot Miss

If you are under 18 on the exam date (August 16, 2026), PMDC requires you to submit a Juvenile Registration Certificate (JRC) issued by NADRA — in addition to your B-Form.

This is a confirmed 2026 addition. It was not required in previous years. Many students are not aware of it, and some MDCAT preparation platforms have not updated their guides yet.

If you do not have a JRC and are under 18:

Visit your nearest NADRA office or use NADRA's online portal

Apply for a JRC immediately — processing can take 7 to 14 days

Do not submit your MDCAT application without the JRC if you are under 18

Do not assume your B-Form is enough. PMDC's public notice specifically lists JRC as a separate, mandatory document for students under 18.

Myth vs. Fact — Common MDCAT Registration Mistakes

MYTH

FACT

MYTH

My B-Form is enough if I am under 18.

FACT

No. PMDC now requires a JRC (Juvenile Registration Certificate) from NADRA as a separate document for students under 18.

MYTH

I can change my test city after submitting the form.

FACT

No. The test city is final after submission. PMDC has confirmed no centre changes are allowed.

MYTH

Result-awaiting students cannot register.

FACT

They can. PMDC explicitly allows FSc result-awaiting students to apply and sit MDCAT 2026.

MYTH

MDCAT has negative marking, so I should leave hard questions blank.

FACT

MDCAT 2026 has zero negative marking. Attempt every question — a guess is better than an empty box.

MYTH

Paying the fee late just means I pay more — no other consequence.

FACT

The late window closes on July 13. After that, no registration is possible regardless of fee amount.

The admit card release date is an editorial estimate based on PMDC's historical 2-3 week pre-exam timeline — it is not from the official notice and may change.
