UHS Fall 2026 Academic Calendar Overview

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has officially approved the academic calendar for the Fall Semester 2026. Affiliated institutions across Punjab must begin classes for BS Allied Health Sciences programs by November 16.

The decisions were finalized during the 43rd meeting of the Board of Studies for Allied Health Sciences. UHS Vice Chancellor Maj Gen (retd) Prof Sohail Sabir chaired the session, which brought together heads of affiliated colleges in Lahore and across Punjab to review admissions, examinations, and academic standards.

What Are the Key Deadlines and Exam Dates?

Students and administrators must note several critical dates outlined in the approved schedule for the 2026-2027 academic year:

• Class Commencement: November 16
• Waiting List Deadline: November 30 (for filling vacant seats)
• First-Semester Exams Start: April 5, 2027
• Second-Semester Exams Start: September 13, 2027

The university ruled out issuing fresh advertisements for vacant seats, directing institutions to complete admissions through existing waiting lists by the end of November.

Future Admission Rules for BS Programs

The board also established new parameters for upcoming admissions cycles. Admissions to BS programs in 2027 will officially commence after the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT).

Candidates who secure a minimum score of 50 percent in the MDCAT will be exempt from taking a separate entry test for BS programs.

Academic Standards and Infrastructure Updates

During the meeting, officials discussed measures to standardize practical skills training across all affiliated medical and dental institutions in Punjab. Plans include establishing a central simulation laboratory in partnership with Robert Gordon University. The university is also reviewing the potential integration of artificial intelligence into teaching methodologies.
